Create Basics 20 Bottle Tie Dye Party Kit, 12 Bright Rainbow Colors

$ 6.57

This pack creates a lot of t-shirts. It is too bad Walmart online allows 5mb it smaller pictures because I have no way to shrink the pictures on my phone to show you all the beautiful and fun creations we made, only half of them… I can tell you… Everybody needs gloves. The ones in the pack are fine for children 10 and adults, but in the larger size for younger children. My children couldn’t fit them but weren’t able to sm so it without my assistance anyway (5 and 3 years old), so I basically did everything except choose their colors. After all our favorite colors were running out we chose to find more t-shirts in our closets to use up the rest with the more “ugly” colors, and yet we liked how most of them turned out too. I recommend laying painter’s plastic (it’s super sheet); just cut it to size. Lay it on a longer counter leading to to your sink. Having the sink handy is important to rinse the colors off of your gloves before you flip your shirts over. I also rinse off the rack before flipping over the shirts so that the wrong colors don’t drop into areas with different colors. Rubber banding right is important and thankfully the ones in this packet are great quality! There are plenty to do lots of shirts too!! We put empty grocery bags on another counter near our sink so that as soon as we had completed dying a t-shirt, we could gently stick it into the bag and tie it up and set it down somewhere else. Our first batch of shirts we let soak in for 12 hours and our second batch for 16 hours and the second batch had slightly more bold color. Also, I noticed with the brand new, 100% cotton t-shirts (around $3-4/piece at Walmart) they soaked up the dyes/ were more colorful a bit more than the older/used t-shirts that we did. Also, I had dyed a really thin, tightly woven cotton pillow case at the end, and it did not create bold colors at all after washing and drying. The few polyester blended cotton t-shirts we did also weren’t as good at soaking up the dye, so be careful with what you use. The thick, 100% cotton tees do the best! :) [...]
